Their Inner World

My work with children starts with helping them embody who they are while preserving their innocence. I give them the tools to regulate themselves so they can move through their lives as leaders and light bearers.

What I Offer

My work with children starts with building trust, something I have spent twenty years cultivating in families. Trust a child can then use to speak their own truth, regulate their emotions, understand what is and is not theirs to carry as a young person, ask real questions, explore boundaries, and come fully into their body, all while preserving their innocence and their own unique essence.

In session, that might look like guided meditation, breathwork, energy practices, journaling, dream work, parts work, herbs, and prayer or intention setting. I also use sound instruments to help locate where an emotion is actually sitting in the body and bring the nervous system into a different frequency. What we use depends on what a child brings that week and what they are ready for. I follow the child's lead in each session and bring whatever tool actually fits what is in front of us that day.

Part of what I offer is room for a child to explore and sharpen whatever gifts are already alive in them spiritually. Kids are often more attuned than adults give them credit for. My job is to help a child trust what they sense, understand it, and eventually embody it fully.

The through line in all of it is the same. A child gets a person entirely their own, someone with no stake in who they should be, only in who they already are becoming.

How Sessions Work

I meet with each child once a week for an hour, in person. Consistency matters here. Every child in my practice comes to know that this time is theirs, and they get excited to jump in and expand within it.

In session, I hold space rather than correct or direct. Defiance or shutting down becomes information, a signal that something underneath it wants to be heard. That is true for every child I work with. I ask questions that put the choice back in a child's hands, and where it is safe to, I let things play out. Every session is guided with real intention, building trust is the work underneath whatever we are doing that day.

When something happens, I often guide a child back to the exact moment they first felt whatever feeling led to it, the instant just before the outcome. Meeting that moment again in the body is a practice in itself, a way of bringing a child back into ownership and embodiment.

This sits alongside what a parent already offers, a second, steady presence in a child's life.

What We Are Working Toward

Over time, I want a child to have a real relationship with their own emotional world, the ability to name what they are feeling and move through it. I want them to have language and practices for their spiritual life that are actually theirs, room to sharpen whatever gifts are already present in them. I want them to have ground under them well before adolescence arrives.

And I want them to have, in me, a trusted adult outside the family and outside school, someone they know they can bring anything to.

This work does not really have an end point. It is meant to grow with a child, across the years ahead.

Between Sessions

I send a short summary after each session, enough for parents to feel connected to what we are doing without it becoming a report the child has to feel watched by. These are written from my side only, my own read on the hour, and I keep identifying details soft on purpose.

I also put together a living guide for parents, language and small practices to use at home that echo what happens in session, so the container stays open during the rest of the week rather than only existing in the room with me. It grows as the work does.

And I record guided meditations in my own voice, written specifically for each child I work with. Parents are welcome to listen too. A child can reach for these in their own time, whenever the moment calls for it.

All of this, the session summaries, the guide, the meditations, lives on a private dashboard made for each family I work with, its own link shared only with that family. Parents can watch the journey unfold there in one place, with guides on integration and every meditation on hand, rather than digging through emails between sessions.

Logistics

Sessions are held once a week for an hour, in person, at $200 an hour. In my experience, impermanence is hard for kids to navigate, so consistency in our work together really matters. I ask families to commit to an initial three month block, a length of time the child understands from the start and that we hold to together. We can revisit the arrangement once that block is complete.

A Last Note

In cultures that are dwindling now, children grew up surrounded by aunties, wise women, and elders in the community, adults outside their own parents who they could turn to as they came into themselves. That kind of web is harder to find now. I am glad to be one of those adults for a child, a small piece of that web rewoven.
